Viotek GFT27CXB 27-inch 240 Hz Gaming Monitor Review

Final Thoughts

When it comes to TN panels you typically don’t expect to have vibrant colors, but with the Viotek GFT27CXB you get just that, an incredibly vibrant display. Even when you turn HDR on the image is still crisp and not washed out like you expect from a TN panel. That is one of the most impressive things about the GFT27CXB, it might be the best TN panel that I’ve seen! I was also impressed with how well the display was calibrated out of the box.

On top of the vibrant colors you get a 27-inch 1080p display with a 240 Hz refresh rate. At least in my experience the higher refresh rate does make a difference, especially in fast-paced games. If you are moving up from a 60 Hz, 120 Hz, or even a 144 Hz display you’ll definitely notice a difference. On top of that this display supports both FreeSync and G-SYNC. The 27-inch size at 1080p is pretty good, personally I prefer 24-inches at 1080p, but 27 is not all that bad and I didn’t have to move my head to see everything that was going on, on the screen. The thin bezels are also great.

When it comes to other features of the GFT27CXB the on-screen menu system works well and is pretty easy to access using the joystick on the back of the monitor. There are six different display presets, but you can also set three different “user” presets. The included stand is good and allows you to adjust the height, angle, and swivel of the display. You can even switch between landscape and portrait modes.

I would have liked to have seen better cable management though, and the fact that the monitor uses a power adapter I’m not a fan of. Also the RGB lighting on the back of the monitor is not really that bright and there is no way to control it.

I think if you are looking for a high refresh rate monitor the Viotek GFT27CXB is a solid choice and you won’t be disappointed in the performance or quality of the TN panel that they are using. Right now you can pick up the GFT27CXB at our favorite online retailer for $289.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Viotek GFT27CXB 27-inch 240 Hz Gaming Monitor a 9 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award!
