We Could See a GTX 1080 Successor By Late July

According to the latest reports NVIDIA is putting the final touches on its first serious GeForce-branded GPU based on the next-generation NVIDIA architecture. While we do not know which architecture the GPU will be based on it looks like it is slated for a late-July product announcement.

With this launch you would see a limited reference design “Founders Edition” product launch in July, which will be followed by custom-designed card launches in August and September. This card will be powered by a chip that will succeed the current GP104, which powers both the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070.

The name “Turing”, which we originally thought might be codename for the architecture or silicon, might actually be the codename for the SKU (likely either named GTX 1180 or GTX 2080).
