Yesterday Apple announced their brand new 21.5 and 27-inch iMac models. These new models feature new retina displays and much more. Apple computers have always been more expensive than a PC and definitely more expensive than building your own PC. So how much does a completely maxed out 27-inch iMac cost?
Now the base 27-inch iMac model is $1799 and comes with the following configuration:
– 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 Skylake processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
– AMD Radeon R9 M380 with 2GB video memory
– Retina 5K 5120-by-2880 P3 display
– 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 RAM
– 1TB SATA hard drive with a speed of 7200RPM
– Magic Mouse 2
Now here is the complete maxed out specifications…
– 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 Skylake processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz
– AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4GB video memory
– Retina 5K 5120-by-2880 P3 display
– 32GB 1866MHz DDR3 RAM
– 1TB Flash Storage
– Magic Mouse 2 + Magic Trackpad 2
So with all of that we come to a total of $4228! That is quite a lot of money given the specifications. I know if I had $4228 to spend on a computer I would be building a pretty badass gaming machine, not getting an iMac. Would you pay that much for the new 27-inch iMac?
