Acer Reveals Predator X49 X Ultrawide Gaming Monitor Featuring 240Hz QD-OLED Panel

Acer has finally disclosed information regarding its high-end OLED monitor, which was teased prior to Computex. Prior to this reveal, there were no official specifications or formal announcements. Acer has recently published a video highlighting key features of the monitor.

The Predator X49 X is an ultra-wide monitor boasting a resolution of 5120×1440 (DQHD) and a 32:9 aspect ratio. Acer’s monitor presents a curved design with a curvature of 1800R, employing OLED display technology. It’s said to utilize the same display found in the Red Magic Realm 49″ and Philips 49M2C8900 models. With a panel size of 48.9 inches, it integrates QD-OLED technology developed by Samsung.

Regarding brightness, Acer confirms a typical brightness of 250 nits, peaking at 1000 nits. Similar to many premium OLED panels, it carries the DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and also supports HDR10 mode.

The monitor boasts a 240 Hz refresh rate and a rapid 0.3 ms response time. It offers variable refresh support via AMD FreeSync Premium. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB Type-C port that delivers 90W for power. Additionally, it features a built-in KVM switch and supports dual 2K display mode simultaneously with two inputs. Acer has not yet confirmed the complete specifications, pricing, or release date.
