When it comes to storage this year at CES everyone was talking about Gen4 drives. When we went to visit ADATA they didn’t just have one Gen4 drive to show us, but three actually!
Starting with their XPG SAGE drive, this will make use of the Rainier IG5236 controller and have a rated performance of 7000 MB/s read and 6100 MB/s write with 1000K IOPs. It will be available in capacities up to 4TB.
Up next is the XPG INDIGO drive. This drive will make use of the SM2264 controller and have read and write performance of 7000 MB/s and 6000 MB/s respectively. With read and write IOPS of 700K as well. It will also be available in capacities up to 4TB.
Finally the last drive is the XPG PEARL, which will be a more affordable drive. It will be using the SM2267 controller and will have read and write speeds of 4000 MB/s and 3000 MB/s with a 400K IOPS rating. It will also be available in capacities up to 4TB.
