ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro M.2 NVMe Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts
After spending some time with the XPG SX6000 Pro there really is not much to not like about the drive. It performs right up to its rated speeds and comes in at a price that makes it no-brainer for most people. Right now the 512GB version of the drive that we reviewed today is only $67.99 at our favorite online retailer.

The drive performed quite well in our tests scoring 2117.2 MB/s read and 1544.1 MB/s write in CrystalDiskMark. In ATTO Disk Benchmark we saw speeds of 1.98 GB/s read and 1.40 GB/s write. Even the Linear Write test in AIDA64 showed that a sustained write will not cripple the drive. We’ve seen many drives in the past drop performance in this test after 15-20% of the drive was been filled.

I like that on this drive and other XPG drives that ADATA makes the heatsink optional. The heatsink is definitely going to help keep temperatures of the drive down, but many new motherboards come with some pretty awesome integrated M.2 heatsinks. So if you happen to want to use your motherboard’s heatsink instead of the one that comes with the drive you don’t have to rip it off the drive.

ADATA has really made this drive for people who are looking to either upgrade from a traditional hard drive or 2.5-inch SATA solid state drive and in both cases it would be a solid upgrade. Also ADATA backs this drive with a 5-year warranty so that should have you covered for the life of your system. With a price of $67.99 for the 512GB, that works out to 13 cents per gigabyte, which is pretty impressive. And as we always say you can put the money you save towards something else in your system. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro M.2 NVMe Solid State a 9 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award!
