With all of the hype last week for AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series processors many were wondering whether AMD will be using solder on the chips integrated heat spreader (IHS). Well it has been confirmed that the Ryzen 3000 series processors will feature an IHS.
Senior Technical marketing manager at AMD Robert Hallock confirmed this via twitter:
Using solder instead of thermal paste provides better heat dissipation. Intel only uses solder on their “K” overclockable processors.
