AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT Could Become The Next Mining King With Its Exceptional Cryptocurrency Performance

AMD’s latest mid-range GPU, RX 6600XT is the talk of the town in the miners’ community. Ethereum is on the rise and with this comes the gamer’s worst nightmare: miners interested in yet another GPU launch.

As per a report on Reddit, the RX6600XT has a good mining efficiency compared to other products. Do note that numbers shared are based on preliminary data and speculation which is why detailed research was done.

Due to their pricing and poor mining performance the  RDNA2  GPUs are not commonly used for mining. Besides this, they also have shorter memory buses, which is the major cause of the poor mining performance.

However, Navi 23 might be different. The 6600 XT’s 2048 Stream Processors and 8 GB GDDR6 RAM operating at a 128-bit makes it an ideal candidate for mining. As per Dizzy Mining’s video, the MSI’s RX6600XT offers 28 MH/s mining rate in stock condition. The mining plunges to 32 MH/s after increasing memory frequency to 2.2 GHz, reducing the GPU frequency to 1.2 GHz. The changes resulted in a TDP drop to 55W.

Tom’s Hardware also confirmed through their own test that RX 6600 XT is indeed a good card for mining. They measured actual graphics card consumption figures through the Powenetics hardware monitoring tool. According to their result, an average of 75W of actual power consumption of the whole graphics cards was observed.
