AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT to feature 10GB and 12GB Memory Configs

AMD has finished incorporating additional ASIC (GPUs) into the Radeon RX 7000 series, yet there remains room for one more SKU. As indicated by a submission to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) made by PowerColor, it seems that the company is gearing up to launch a fresh model in the form of the RX 7600 XT.

Within the submission, you’ll find a roster of recently revealed models, along with several cards that PowerColor has not officially addressed. Notably, the Radeon RX 7800 XT stands out with its distinctive white design, featuring a Sakura series reminiscent of the prior release for the RX 6000 series.

What’s particularly noteworthy is the presence of undisclosed SKUs in the document, with neither PowerColor nor AMD officially confirming them. The Radeon RX 6750 GRE, previously a topic of discussion a few weeks ago, now seems to receive confirmation through this filing. However, it seems the earlier rumors might not have been entirely precise, as this card is documented with 12GB of memory, contradicting the prior speculation of 10GB for the RX 6700 non-XT model it was anticipated to replace.

As for the Radeon RX 7600 XT, it’s important to note that this card has not received an official announcement yet. What’s intriguing is that information about this card indicates two memory options: either 10GB or 12GB, surpassing the 8GB in the RX 7600 non-XT model.

This memory setup prompts questions about AMD’s choice of GPU architecture. One possibility is the utilization of the Navi 33 architecture with unusual 96-bit and 80-bit memory configurations, although this seems counterintuitive as it would result in lower memory bandwidth compared to the RX 7600, given that the Navi 33 GPU typically employs a 128-bit memory interface.

On the other hand, a more credible hypothesis would revolve around a significantly reduced Navi 32 GPU, potentially allowing for 192/160-bit memory choices. This scenario would better correspond with the mentioned memory configurations and offer a more rational explanation for the expanded memory capacity.

Certainly, if the details prove to be correct, they could signify an intriguing evolution in AMD’s product range. The potential emergence of a Radeon RX 7600 XT with different memory setups could effectively address a discernible void in the entry-level sector. This expansion of options would offer consumers more alternatives between the current $269 RX 7600 and $449 RX 7700 XT models, accommodating a broader spectrum of budget and performance preferences.
