If you want to look out for AMD and Intel’s engineering samples then Alibaba’s Goofish is surely the first place of choice where you should be looking. This platform has been used to sell some processors in the past, however, these remain useful for a very small group.
Apparently, a Ryzen 5 7600X sample is also up for sale now. The seller has only provided some basic information on the CPU like the 4.4 GHz base clock. This is slightly lower than the 4.7 GHz clock of the CPU which is 6 core and is expected to reach boost clocks of 5.3 GHz in the retail form.
A few days ago, we did come across the retail version of Ryzen 7 7700X 8-core CPU. This one most likely came with lesser bugs and it also offered the final specs. There was no SKU name on this sample, but the OPN code is 100-000000593-20. The first retailer listing has confirmed that this is the 7600X SKU.
The price listed is 9999 RMB (more than 1456 USD) but this is just the advertised price as the seller has requested for direct contact before buying which means the actual price will be disclosed then.
These sources are almost always not reliable and hence we don’t recommend buying this processor.
Only a week remains till the new series is officially introduced and the retail will launch in a month from there, so it makes all the more sense to wait till then. Even if you are to purchase this CPU right now, it would not be of any use without the new socket since there are no AM5 motherboards available yet. Even if you don’t care much for all this, the fact that this CPU is selling illegally should be enough to keep you away from buying it.
