Sony has just revealed the new controller for PlayStation5. The DualSense Edge is a premium ‘high performing’ variant with many additional functions. The most interesting part is that it is fully customizable, and quite similar to the Elite Controller of the Xbox. Sony has brought together the best features from Scuf and Elite controllers like the rear buttons, changeable stick caps, multiple control profiles, and analog thumbsticks.
Gamers will be able to change the stick caps and will have options to choose from three different types including standard, high dome, and low dome. DualSense Edge also comes with two swappable back buttons which can be mapped to other buttons. Even the stick modules can be replaced, something you can’t do in Xbox Elite.
At the rear, you will also find adjustable trigger hair locks which let the players physically lock their triggers so they can half-pull and adjust the distance traveled. In addition to this, you can also remap or deactivate certain inputs and change the stick sensitivity.
The DualSense Edge comes with a braided USB-C cable and a carrying case that houses all the components and charges the controller while it’s stored inside. All in all, Sony has also done great with the aesthetics. The PlayStation symbols are inlaid across the touchpad and also embossed on the triggers.
