3rd Generation Ryzen Features

There are many new features that are coming with AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series processors. First AMD has worked with Microsoft to optimize Windows 10 for the Zen 2 core. This comes via the Windows 10 May 2019 update. The two new optimizations include Topology Awareness and Faster Clock Ramping.

The next improvement is AMD Gamecahce, where AMD has doubled the L3 cache size compared to last generation. In the graph below the grey bars represent the performance uplift going from DDR4-2667 to DDR4-3600 and the red bars represent doubling the L3 cache. You can see just how much of an impact it has on gaming!

With the AMD X570 chipset plus a 3rd generation Ryzen processors AMD is calling the AM4 platform the most connected platform for enthusiasts. You’ll get up to 12 USB 3.1 gen ports, up to 4 USB 3.0 ports, up to 14 SATA 6GB ports, and between 36 and 44 usable PCIe 4.0 lanes. You can see the below chart to see how the competition compares.

Finally to bring even more value to the Ryzen 3000 series AMD is bundling the Wraith Prism RGB CPU cooler with every Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 CPU. Previously only the Ryzen 7 2700X received this premium cooler. This is a very capable cooler too, we will show you the performance a little later in this review.
