AMD To Release 50th Anniversary Special Edition Ryzen 7 2700X

AMD will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a new special edition Ryzen 7 2700X eight-core desktop processor. This special edition has the PIB SKU number “YD270XBGAFA50”. The online retailer ShopBLT had the chip listed for $340.95, but has since pulled the listing down. The listing (seen below) does not have any pictures or details about this special edition chip except that it comes with the Wraith Prism RGB CPU cooler like normal Ryzen 7 2700X chips do.

Since the model number has not changed we do not expect this processor to be different than the normal Ryzen 7 2700X spec-wise. It might have some type of special packaging or maybe an engraving on the processors IHS. In the past AMD has used tin boxes for its FX-series processors so we could see that.

Also based on pricing listed by ShopBLT we do not expect these chips to be binned higher for better overclocks. The Ryzen 7 2700X is an 8-core, 16-thread processors with a 3.7 GHz base clock and boost clock of 4.30 GHz.
