In our previous post we talked about NVIDIA working with TSMC on the 16 nm FinFET process. We wondered why AMD is was not the released list of companies who are working with TSMC. Well it looks like AMD will manufacture their GPUs at Global Foundries.
AMD actually sold Global Foundries back in 2008 to raise cash in difficult times. AMD has stated that they will fab some products at 20 nm and from there on they will move to FinFET chips. Global Foundries is working with together with Samsung on the 14 nm process already. Samsung is expected to launch SoCs based on that node next year.
We are unsure if AMD will remain a partner of TSMC or not.
