It looks like AMD’s $99 Ryzen 3 3100 is turning out to be a fun little chip for enthusiasts to play with. Professional overclocker TSAIK was able to push the little chip all the way up to 5923 MHz under extreme cooling! The Vcore was set to 1.45V and the chip was put under liquid nitrogen.
The chip was run on the MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk motherboard and a single stick of 8GB memory, which was underclocked to DDR4-1600. This overclocking feat is actually the second highest overclocking record for a “Zen 2” processor. TSAIK actually holds the other record for his 6041 MHz overclock of the flagship Ryzen 9 3950X.
