Amped Wireless REC22P Plug-In AC1200 WiFi Range Extender Review

Final Thoughts
If you have a wireless dead spot in your home or office the REC22P from Amped Wireless is a great way to bring WiFi to that area. In my case I had really poor WiFi coverage in my kitchen and with the REC22P installed I have perfect coverage there and it even extends out into my yard. So now I can sit outside on my laptop, where I was unable to do that before. Getting the REC22P installed is extremely easy and took me about 5 minutes.

As far as speeds go the REC22P performed quite well, especially on the 5.0 GHz band. The 2.4 GHz speed was a little concerning though, especially because that is the band that provides more coverage and what many people will be connecting to. I ran the 2.4 GHz tests multiple times and came up with the same results. I ruled out issues with my laptop as the results connected to my router were just fine.

The REC22P has a few other features that most routers don’t. First it has a pass-through power port, meaning that you will not lose the power connection you are plugging the REC22P into. On top of that you have a powered USB port, so you can easily charge your mobile device or tablet. There is also a Gigabit Ethernet port, which is great for a game console or PC that does not have a wireless connection. Amped Wireless really thought of everything with the REC22P!

Right now you can pick up the REC22P at our favorite online retailer for $89.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Amped Wireless Plug-In AC1200 WiFi Range Extender an 8 out of 10 score.
