Apple To Release Bigger 15.5-Inch MacBook Air This Year

Apple announced a revamped 13.6-inch MacBook Air with a new M2 CPU last year. The Cupertino company intends to offer a 15.5-inch screen-sized model of the revamped MacBook Air. This year, Apple will sell a 15.5-inch MacBook Air with the same design as the 13.6-inch model.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg revealed the information in his most recent Power On newsletter, indicating that Apple will release the 15.5-inch MacBook Air model in 2023. The analyst did not provide any information on the design and features of the device, but based on the 13.6-inch model, we may likely form a mental image. This is because Apple made significant changes to the design of the 13.6-inch MacBook Air last year. We may expect the same design to be introduced in the future but in a larger form factor.

Earlier, trustworthy display analyst Ross Young predicted that Apple’s suppliers would commence mass production of 15.5-inch MacBook Air panels in the first quarter of 2023. Apple might release the 15.5-inch MacBook Air with bespoke silicon as early as this spring if the analyst is correct. Regarding specifications, the larger MacBook Air may be available with M2 and M2 Pro chips.

Gurman has previously predicted that Apple will release the 12-inch MacBook at the end of this year or the beginning of 2024. Today, the analyst said that the business no longer intends to launch this laptop in the near or far future. The new 13.6-inch MacBook Air features a notch that houses the front-facing FaceTime camera. The design is slimmer and more streamlined, with improved performance and battery life.
