According to a new rumor, Apple will announce the highly anticipated iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5 in an event on March 8th. The new Macs are also expected to be announced soon. Reports say that at least one new Mac will be announced with more Macs coming in May or June this year at the WWDC Event.
Mark Gurman gave the news in his latest Power On newsletter, conveying that Apple is ready for “another round of Mac releases around May or June.” According to him, Apple will announce at least one Mac in a March event while the rest of the Macs will be announced later on in May or June. Apple has a number of new releases scheduled this year which includes the new MacBook Air, iMac Pro, Mac mini, as well as the upgraded MacBook Pro. Mark Gurman reported that Apple will probably be releasing a high-end Mac mini along with a low-end 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Apple might have MacBook Air and the 24-inch iMac with an M2 chip up their sleeves as per the rumors. It is also expected that Apple will add its latest M1 Pro and M1 Max chips to the mix in Mac mini for better performance.
The second round of Macs is expected to launch at the WWDC event in May or June. A summer launch for new Macs was previously reported by Ross Young too.
Gurman also reports that Apple’s high-end Mac Pro could possess upgraded versions of the M1 Max chip with 20 CPU cores and 64 GPU cores. Hence, it is expected to deliver enhanced computing and graphics performance. The second chip could feature up to 40 CPU cores and 128 GPU cores.
