Apple’s 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro Will Be Available to Order Starting June 17

The 13 inches M2 MacBook Pro was officially announced by Apple at this year’s WWDC keynote. However, the company left out the most important bit of information – that is when the MacBook Pro will be available to order. The wait is finally over and Apple’s recent press release mentions that those wishing to order the M2 MacBook Pro will be able to do so from the 17th of June.

Those looking to upgrade to the M2 chip will only have eyes for the MacBook Pro, as MacBook Air doesn’t meet that requirement. M2 MacBook Air hasn’t even seen a public announcement as of yet. Apple seems to be holding back maybe because of supply chain issues related to certain parts not being able to ship in bulk quantities such as the M2 MoC. These things are not going to affect the availability of the M2 MacBook Pro which will be up for sale in less than a week. We will soon be seeing the M2 MacBook pro in the market, which resembles the M1 MacBook Pro in design.

Talking about the design, it is evident that this will be the only Mac in Apple’s lineup which is going to ship with a Touch Bar, and also comes with multiple upgrades, one of them being the M2. Moving on to Apple’s custom silicon, it is expected to ship with the same 8 core configuration which was featured on the M1. However, there will be an option to customize to tout a 10-core GPU which will give the end user improved graphics in various tasks.

Talking about customizable options, the M2 MacBook Pro will come with an option to upgrade to a larger LPDDR5 unified RAM of up to 24 GB. On top of this, you can also get a PCIe NVMe storage of up to 2 TB. If you want to pick different options, you are going to have to do this before placing the order since all components are attached to the motherboard and will have to be upgraded before the purchase.

Let’s move on to what everyone had anxiously been waiting for – the availability of the M2 MacBook Pro. The latest Mac will be available in multiple regions on the App Store and through authorized resellers. Customers will start getting their deliveries around June 24th and this is the same time when it will be stocked at select Apple Stores. The base version is going to cost 1,299 USD with a special 100 USD discount.
