As many of you know Asetek is a manufacturer of closed-loop liquid cooling systems that are re-branded by several companies. They have filed a patent-infringement lawsuit against Cooler Master saying that Cooler Master has infringed upon patent numbers 8,240,362 and 8,245,764 held by Asetek. The Cooler Master products in question are the Seidon line of closed-loop CPU coolers.
The Seidon 120M and 240M coolers were launched right after CES this year, but they were rumored way back in September 2012. Asetek claims that they had contacted Cooler Master before the products launch with a case-and-desist order. The say that Cooler Master did not respond satisfactorily and went ahead with the launch of the product. The case (Civil Action No. 3:13-cv-00457-JSC) will be heard by a US Court. We will keep you updated as the progress of the case.
