Following a relatively calm period since the launch of the Radeon RX 7800/7700XT Series, ASRock has introduced a new Radeon GPU. The specifications of the Phantom Gaming White design are essentially the same as the current model with a black shroud. ASRock has chosen a white front design, incorporating three fans and a backplate, while keeping the black PCB. This decision aligns with ASRock’s pattern of releasing multiple white models this year. The launch, occurring almost a year after AMD introduced the RX 7900 XT GPU, highlights a sustained interest in vibrant alternatives based on the Navi 31 GPU.
Built on the RDNA3 architecture, the RX 7900 XT features 84 Compute Units, translating to 5376 Stream Processors. It comes equipped with 20GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit memory bus and an 80MB Infinity Cache, emphasizing its commitment to high-performance capabilities.
Equipped with factory overclocking, the card showcases a game clock of 2075 MHz and a boost clock of 2450 MHz, constituting a 2.3 to 2.5% overclock relative to AMD’s reference specifications. This release represents the fourth design utilizing Navi 31 XT and the third to be a custom variant.
ASRock states that the model features three 10cm fans characterized by a striped ring design. The ‘ultra-fit’ heatpipe configuration integrates six heatpipes connected to a sizable heatsink supported by a metal frame. The GPU contact area is crafted from nickel-plated copper, and the card employs a dual 8-pin power connector.
ASRock is slowly diversifying its product lineup by introducing dual-color designs, with the Taichi and Steel Legend series already showcasing a white cooler design. Although the company provides a liquid-cooled AQUA model, it’s worth noting that this card is technically silver. Nevertheless, anticipate more Phantom Gaming cards adopting this fresh aesthetic, potentially garnering interest from GPU enthusiasts.
