AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series really has gamers excited. One of the main reasons for this is gamers actually have a viable second option when choosing a new graphics card. Since the introduction of NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series was no competition at all, and with what some would call lackluster performance, phantom MSRPs, and no availability gamers where chomping at the bit for an alternative. Finally they have one in the Radeon RX 9070 series. For this generation of graphics cards AMD is solely focusing on the mainstream market, hence why they made the name change too. So we have the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, which are meant to compete directly against the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 from NVIDIA. We are also getting some pretty aggressive pricing here as well with the 9070 XT having an MSRP of $599 and the 9070 XT having an MSRP of $549. Today we will be taking a look at the Radeon RX 9070, which is based off AMD’s Navi 48 silicon with 56 of the 64 compute units enabled. This configuration will give you 3584 stream processors 112 AI accelerators, 56 RT accelerators, 224 TMUs, 128 ROPs, 64MB of Infinity Cache, and 16GB of GDDR6 that runs across a 256-bit memory interface. Clock speeds are going to be a game clock of 2070 MHz and a boost clock of 2520 MHz. The specific card we have today is the ASRock Radeon RX 9070 Steel Legend OC. As the name implies we have a slight overclock with the game clock being 2210 MHz and the boost clock being 2700 MHz. On top of that you have a triple-fan cooling solution with RGB fans, a full-coverage metal backplate, and sleek white design and much more!
