Last week at CeBIT we saw many different companies show off Intel Haswell Z87 motherboards, ASRock included. ASRock also had something else pretty special to show at their booth, A custom Z87 mini-ITX gaming system. ASRock is actually pretty well knows for their mini PC’s, we have reviewed a few over the past couple of years. The system is made up of a few main parts. First the motherboard which is ASRock’s Z87-E ITX. Then you have a custom small form factor case that was co-designed by BMW DesignWorks USA.

The Z87-E ITX sure packs a lot into such a small board and has features you just will not find on other mini-ITX boards. It boasts a 6-phase VRM, two DDR3 DIMM slots, a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, mini PCI Express 2.0 slot and six SATA 6GB/s ports. The mini PCI Express 2.0 slot can be used for the WiFi+Bluetooth card that ASRock includes in the base design. As far as connectivity you have HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, PS/2 mouse / keyboard combo, Gigabit Ethernet, and 8-channel audio with digital out.
Customers can install their own video card. The system comes with a PCI Express riser that allows the card to be installed parallel with the motherboard.
