The NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti 8GB is nothing new, we covered the launch back in June of 2023. It turned out to be a great card for 1080p gaming with the benefits of NVIDIA features like DLSS3 and RTX. Well ASUS has taken that card and made it a bit more interesting by adding an M.2 SSD slot on the card. I’m honestly surprised we haven’t seen this sooner as an M.2 SSD can take advantage of the extra PCIe lanes and this gives you the ability to add an additional SSD to your system quite easily. The card specifically is the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD OC Edition, which is based on the ASUS Dual design. The 2.5-slot card makes use of a dual-fan cooling solution and features a slight overclock of 2565 MHz for the GPU boost. Let’s take a look!
Special thanks to ASUS for providing us with the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD OC Edition Graphics Card to review.
Features of the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD OC Edition
– Powered by NVIDIA DLSS3, ultra-efficient Ada Lovelace arch, and full ray tracing
– 4th Generation Tensor Cores: Up to 4x performance with DLSS 3 vs. brute-force rendering
– 3rd Generation RT Cores: Up to 2x ray tracing performance
– OC edition: Boost Clock 2595 MHz (OC Mode)/ 2565 MHz (Default Mode)
– The built-in M.2 slot boasts PCIe Gen 5 speeds and effectively dissipates heat to the card’s heatsink for cooler temperatures.
– M.2 Q-latch design enables tool-free installation and removal of M.2 SSDs.
– Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub to increase airflow through the cooling array
– A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis.
– Dual ball fan bearings can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
– 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
– Protective backplate adds structural rigidity and vents to increase heat reliability
Packaging of the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD OC Edition
The Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD OC Edition comes in very much the same packaging as the original RTX 4060 Ti Dual card, except there is a little notification on the front of the box that lets us know this card has a built-in M.2 slot.
Flipping over to the back we get quite a lot of details on the card including the M.2 slot, the axial-tech fan design, ASUS’s software, and of course a run-down of your display connections.
Getting everything out of the box we have the card itself, the metal backplate for the M.2 slot, a screwdriver and mounting hardware for it said metal backplate, a quick start guide, SSD installation guide, and a thank you note.
