ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE Announced with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile CPUs

ASUS released its ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 in 2020. Its development was an inspiration from Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. The SE version has now gone through a major change, which is the switch to AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Series mobile processors paired with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 series cards.

The best feature of the Zephyrus Duo 15 is the ScreenPad Plus. It is the largest second IPS panel in a gaming laptop with a 14-inch size, a 4K resolution, and a 60Hz refresh rate. The screen is placed at a 13-degree tilt to provide an improved viewing experience and efficient cooling. Currently, ASUS is working with developers to improve ScreenPAd Plus functionality in games.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE features high-end components, which include Ryzen 9 5900HX Mobile Processor and a 30 mobile series graphics card up to GeForce RTX 3080. It also features 32GB DDR4 RAM and Dual NVM Express PCIe x4 SSDs with a storage capacity of up to 2TB.

The SE version features a 15.6″ 4K UHD IPS panel with a 3ms response time and a 120Hz refresh rate. You can also opt for an FHD IPS panel that features a 3ms response time and 300 Hz refresh rate. The ScreenPad resolution corresponds to the main panel.

The powerful hardware requires powerful cooling too. The CPU is kept cool using Thermal Grizzly’s liquid metal compound. As for the rest of the laptop, Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) saves the day. It exposes a 7–10mm intake through ScreenPad increasing the airflow by 30%.

The base model is available on the ASUS official website for $2899.
