AViiQ Portable Laptop Stand Review

Usage & Testing
I’ve been using the portable laptop stand for about 3 weeks now and I do like it, especially since it is so easy to take places with me. It fits nicely into my Speck CorePack Fly Laptop Messenger Bag without taking up any space at all. I’ve been using the portable laptop stand with my Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13-inch laptop and it seems to be a perfect fit. I’m not sure how well a 17-inch laptop would fit on the stand.

When using the portable laptop stand typing on my laptop is much more enjoyable and the stand did not move at all. There are 2 different ways you can have the laptop stand setup, the second way works really well if you are standing and looking down on the laptop. I’ve done this while cooking, I have a recipe on my laptop and the stand makes it easy to look down and see everything clearly.

The stand does lift your laptop off the ground so it should help a little bit with cooling. To test this we ran Prime95 and recorded the temperatures with and without the stand. Here are our results.

Wow I was actually surprised that the portable laptop stand did not really help cooling at all.

Final Thoughts
The AViiQ Portable Laptop Stand is definitely a neat little laptop stand to have around and comes in handy, but when it comes down to it I really do not think that it is worth the $79.95 price tag. Yes you are getting one of easiest laptop stands to travel with and it works well as a stand, but that’s all it is, is a stand. Paying that much for a stand which does not offer any cooling at all just does not make much sense to me.

The design of the laptop stand is very impressive and it is something you don’t see every day. I like that I can take the stand pretty much anywhere with me without it take up much room at all. Overall ThinkComputers gives the AViiQ Portable Laptop Stand a 7 out of 10 score.

Pros:
– Neat design
– Extremely portable

Cons:
– No cooling
– Price
