AYANEO 2 Console Featuring AMD Ryzen 7 6800U APU To Launch In September

AYANEO 2 release date has finally been confirmed as the company has announced that the AYANEO Air has started shipping from today. It will be sent out to all media outlets and first backers for reviews.

AYANEO PRODUCT SERIES

The AYANEO Air console is an OLED handheld device featuring the Ryzen 5000 APU, but by the time it has started to ship, the focus has already shifted to the seemingly more abled AYANEO 2 which is based on Ryzen 6000. The official release time for the AYANEO 2 is going to be September end, whereas mass shipping will start in October. This kind of tiered launch is typically reserved for devices which are crowdfunded.

Let’s quickly take a run through the specs.

AYANEO 2 2

The AYANEO 2, as we already mentioned, is based on AMD’s Ryzen 7 6800U processor and features a total of 8 cores and 16 threads with the updated Zen3+ architecture. It comes with 12 RDNA2 Compute Units which is 50% more than the Steam Deck. This is the first time AYANEO is releasing a console based on this graphics architecture.

Another first according to AYANEO is the special design being a handheld featuring a ‘full-screen’. This means there will be very small bezels as compared to other devices in the market of similar nature. It also has a full HD IPS display, giving the device an upgrade from the original panel of 720p.

AYANEO 2 3

Surprisingly enough, the AYANEO 2 isn’t the company’s flagship device. The AYANEO Next 2 is already in the pipeline and it is going to be a much larger device with both analog sticks and buttons. Quite like the Steam Deck, it will also have touchpads.
