CES 2017 – Zoopa Goes Worldwide With Globe UAV

Zoopa has a new drone named Globe UAV, and as its name implies, it can be used globally. Globe UAV uses cellular 4G LTE service to receive controls and stream video back to the included control panel. The best thing about Globe UAV utilizing 4G LTE is that you can be sitting in Las Vegas, but piloting a drone anywhere else in the world that has 4G LTE service. Let’s take a more in-depth look at Globe UAV and Zoopa’s other products.

Beyond its built-in 4G LTE support, Globe UAV also has a 4K camera, thermal camera, and a parachute in case an emergency landing is necessary. Globe UAV’s 4K camera sends that high-quality video to its on-board storage, and uses 1080p adaptive streaming (depending on signal quality) to stream a live feed back to mission control. Its thermal camera will help search and rescue find missing people in a vast forest, or it can identify hidden threats for police or militaries. Globe UAV carries a retail price of $50,000 and is not available to the general public. Any government agency who wants one has to fill out an application.

Lastly, Zoopa has a line of Thunder boats! When I was a kid, I went to Toys “R” Us with my Christmas cash and bought a Nyko remote controlled boat. For some reason it was the coolest thing I ever had, but it didn’t live a long life. When I saw Zoopa’s Thunder line of speedboats at CES 2017, it immediately brought me back to my childhood. These boats look awesome and range from $79.99 to $350. Each boat has watercooled engines, 500ft range, and about 15 minute battery life. The fastest boat, Thunder 800 can go up to 55MPH!
