Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Case Review

Final Thoughts
After looking at the improvements Cooler Master has made to the original CM 690, the CM 690 II is a winner in my book.  The CM 690 was a great case, but needed updated.  Cooler Master has done this in great fashion by adding the all black interior, better cooling system, more room for extra fans, better hard drive bays, better tool-less systems and an overall better look.

It seems with every case I review I run into at least one problem; with the CM 690 II advanced I didn’t run into a single one.  All of the tool-less systems worked great, there were not any clearance issues, installation was just simple and easy.

This case can be for anyone from a gamer to a simple PC user, especially with a $99 price tag.  There is enough room inside for up to 6 hard drive, 4 optical drives and you can fit large video cards in the case.  Not to mention the black interior looks really cool.  Also the X-Dock and eSATA connections on the top of the case are nice extras you get.  If you are worried about cooling you do get 3 included fans and room for quite a few more.  Also this case is water-cooling ready.

As I said there are 2 different versions of this case.  The CM 690 II and the CM 690 II Advanced.  Our review is of the CM 690 II Advanced, but the CM 690 II is basically the same case expect there is no X-Dock, no 2.5-inch hard drive adapter, no VGA holder, and only 2 of the 4 5.25-inch drive bays have tool-less systems.  So if you don’t need those things you can save about $20.

This is one of the more solid cases I have reviewed lately.  While it is not super flashy, everything works flawlessly and I did not have a single problem with installation.  This really shows that Cooler Master took the original 690 and took time to improve it.  Overall ThinkComputers gives the Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Case a perfect 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
