Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 RGB Case Review

Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 RGB Overview
The MasterBox Lite 5 RGB is a rather sleek looking PC case. For those wondering it has official dimensions of 468.8 x 200 x 454.5mm and we categorize it as a mid-tower. The case is all black and currently that is the only color available. Cooler Master really has not made different color variations of their MasterCase or MasterBox series cases, so I wouldn’t expect different colors of this case to come out. The case itself is mostly made of steel.

Starting at the front of the case we have the angular designed front panel that we’ve seen on many other recent Cooler Master cases. This part of the case does not pull forward to reveal any 5.25-inch drive bays. This part of the case is clear, but has a black tint to it. This will allow you to see the three 120 mm RGB fans when they are powered on. The front part of the case is easily removed revealing these fans. The front of the case also has support for water cooling radiators up to 360 mm.

Moving up to the top of the case you’ll find your front panel connections as well as a few buttons. From left to right you have a small reset button, HD audio connections, a large power button, two USB 3.0 ports, and a hard drive activity LED. The top of the case is rather plain as there are no fans or cooling options available.

Looking at the main side of the case we have a full tempered glass side panel. This a 4mm-thick piece of tempered glass. While tempered glass seems to be what every case manufacturer is doing right now we like it. Tempered glass looks better and is not scratch easily like acrylic. The glass panel is held on the case by two large thumbscrews with rubber washers so you won’t crack the glass if you accidentally tighten the screens too much.

Coming around to the back of the case we have a pretty basic layout. Towards the top we have a 120 mm exhaust fan. This is not a RGB like the front three, but this fan makes a total of 4 pre-installed fan. Not bad for a case that is only $69.99. Moving down you have your expansion slots and then the power supply mount on the bottom. You will also notice thumbscrews on the opposite side panel.

On the bottom of the case there are four rubber feet which will not only lift your case off the ground for proper air-flow, but also keep your system in place on your desk. We can also see a small filter for the power supply.
