Keyboard Overview
Taking a look at the keyboard it has a full-size design so you have a full compliment of keys as well as a full numberpad. If you pick up the keyboard it has some nice weight to it, which is always a good thing. This keyboard set is basically a newer version of the keyboard that came with the MasterKeys Lite which we reviewed about a year agon. The USB cable on the keyboard is rubber, nothing fancy here.
This keyboard is not a mechanical keyboard, but it is the closest you are going to get. This keyboard uses Cooler Master’s mem-chanical switches, which are made up of a transparent plunger for increased brightness, a steady support housing for increased durability, and a tactile dome foundation, which gives you that great feedback. The keycaps themselves are UV coated and are Cherry MX compatible so you can purchase after-market keycaps for this keyboard. These are a new version of the mem-chanical switches which feel better and are definitely more clicky.
There are no extra macros keys or anything like that on this keyboard, but the function row has alternative functions. So F1-F12 from left to right alternative functions: random lighting color, red color levels, green color levels, blue color levels, LED lighting mode, LED lighting zones and direction, lihgting speed adjust, repeat rate 1x, repeat rate 8x, full keyboard lock, windows key lock. The below that you have multimedia function on the keys that sit between the normal keys and your number pad.
Taking a look at the keyboard from the side we can see how the keys are positioned. The first three rows angle down, and the top three angle up. This is a typical design we see on most gaming keyboards. If you need a more extreme angle you can pop out the feet on the bottom of the keyboard.
Finally on the bottom of the keyboard we have two feet towards the bottom and there are rubber feet on the pop-out feet as well.
