Corsair VOID PRO RGB Wireless Gaming Headset Review

Usage & Final Thoughts
So I’ve been using the Corsair VOID PRO RGB Wireless Gaming Headset as my main headset for about 3 weeks now and I do have to say I am really enjoying it. Corsair just seems to do things right and this headset is the perfect representation of that.

Starting with sound, the redesigned 50 mm drivers just sound awesome! You can actually tell the difference between this headset and the previous VOID headset. The sound is isolated quite well too, so when you are in your game you fell immersed in it. Nothing is more annoying then heading all of the sound around you that would distract you from gaming. The headset also has Dolby Headphone 7.1 virtual surround sound, which gives you even better sound.

This headset is very comfortable, it is a bit weird to get used to though. I am used to tight headsets, this one however sits more loose on your head. This makes you think it is going to fall off, but I assure you it won’t. The more loose fit actually puts less stress on your head and ears, which means long gaming sessions are no problem with this headset. I really like the breathable microfiber mesh earcups. That with the looser fit really reduces heat build-up and moisture.

Corsair also took time to re-tool the wireless on this headset. It uses new dual diversity antennas to improve wireless coverage area and provide enhanced signal stability in a variety of environments. The wireless transmitter outputs at a 90 degree pattern, with automatic frequency hopping to constantly optimize the wireless signal. Our test for this was the dreaded kitchen, this is where wireless dies in our case. Routers from the office drop signal there like crazy, but with the VOID PRO RGB connected to a PC in the office we could walk into the kitchen, make food and walk back with no problem at all. And who does not like being able to get up and walk away from their PC and still be listening to music or be on voice chat.

The RGB lighting on the headset is a nice feature and is not overdone like we’ve seen on other products. It is easily controlled via Corsair’s CUE software. This is where you can also set and create different EQ settings. The controls on the headset itself are easy to use and you can pretty much do everything without even having to open up CUE.

At the end of the day this is one of the best gaming headsets I’ve used. It sounds great, is super comfortable, I can play for hours upon hours without having to take it off, its easy to control and of course its wireless. If you are looking for a new gaming headset this is one I would definitely consider! Right now you can pick it up at our favorite online retailer for $99.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Corsair VOID PRO RGB Wireless Gaming Headset a 10 out of 10 score and our Editor’s Choice Award!
