Corsair’s Cherry MX RGB Gaming Keyboard

Back in December we announced that Corsair and Cherry were partnering to bring the first Cherry MX RGB gaming keyboards to the US. If you didn’t know Cherry MX RGB key switches have individual RGB lighting on each key switch. This means that you can program each key to be whatever color you wish. This will give users the ability to program in some really cool designs.

As you can see from the video above the demo unit has some pretty cool lighting effects going on. This really is only the tip of the iceberg. We expect there to be a whole community of users creating some really visually appealing effects for these keyboards.

The demo unit was based on Corsair’s Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard, but Corsair told us that they will be bringing more than one Cherry MX board to market. Cherry MX RGB switches will be available in Cherry MX Red, Cherry MX Blue and Cherry MX Brown.

There has been no word yet on a product name or even a price, but Corsair expects to get Cherry MX RGB gaming keyboards in the hand of gamers by the middle of 2014.
