Crucial BX300 240GB Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

Crucial’s “BX” series has always been their entry-level solid state drive series, but the BX300 is a little different. It offers some very solid performance, reliability, and overall good pricing for the entire range. These drives are priced at $59.99 for the 120GB, $87,99 for the 240GB, and $144.99 for the 480GB.

One thing that is very attractive about the BX Series is that there is a 120GB model. When it comes to entry-level solid state drives many of the 120GB versions use a DRAM-less controller and don’t take full advantage of all lanes on their controllers. With the BX300 you have a DRAM cache and still all four channels on the controller being used.

I think that if you are not going to go the high-performance M.2 NVMe route the BX300 is a great choice in a solid state drive for your next build. And of course it is going to be a great upgrade if you are coming from a traditional hard drive.
