Crucial X10 Portable Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts on the Crucial X10 Portable Solid State Drive

I wouldn’t necessarily call the X10 a follow up to 10 X10 Pro, but rather just sort of the same drive with a different shell and the availability of a 8TB version. The drive has everything that we liked about the X10 Pro, it is small, fast, and durable.

The X10 Pro was one of the smallest portable solid state drive’s we reviewed at the time and this drive being the same size puts it in that category as well. Being this small means you can easily fit in your pocket or throw it in a bag no problem. While Crucial replaced the anodized aluminum casing with plastic it still feels very solid and it does have an IP65 rating so it will survive the elements.

As far as speeds go this drive does perform right up to its advertised speed of 2100 MB/s. That means you can use this drive as a portable game or editing drive on top of it being great for transfers.

I think that if you are looking for a high capacity portable solid state drive the Crucial X10 should be on the top of your list. The 2TB version that we took a look at today is selling at our favorite online retailer for $162.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Crucial X10 Portable Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
