Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo 4 and Hogwarts Legacy Can Now Run on Apple M1/M2 Systems

Apple’s MacOS has never really been know for its large game portfolio, although recently games like Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky were natively supported by Apple hardware. It looks as if gamers will be able to play quite a lot of games with the new Apple Game Porting Toolkit. It was announced earlier this week at WWDC and will allow Windows game emulation with a DX11/DX12 Wine-like translation layer to run games.

This type of translation does not always work as expected and can take lots of optimization’s that make games actually playable. Modders however have been able to get games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Diablo 4 running on Apple M1 and M2 Max processors. Performance will vary, but reports are showing the Cyberpunk will run at sub-15 FPS on an M1 system and around 40 FPS on Ultra with an M2 Max.
