Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms provide a substantial warning, but that warning is only useful if you’re within listening range of the alarm. D-Link wants to make these basic alarms more useful with mydlink Smart Alarm Detector.
After plugging mydlink Smart Alarm Detector into an outlet and setting it up in mydlink Home, Smart Alarm Detector will listen 24/7 for the distinctive standardized sounds from a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm. If Smart Alarm Detector hears an alarm’s blaring siren within a 50 foot range, it can trigger a notification to your mobile device, or IFTTT integration can instruct a camera to start recording.
mydlink Smart Alarm Detector will be available Q2 2016 for $59.99.
D-Link is also launching mydlink Home on tvOS for 4th Gen Apple TVs. mydlink Home on Apple TV shows all of the devices connected to a profile on your TV screen, making it easy for anyone to control what’s happening in the home. mydlink Home for tvOS is expected to launch in 2016.
