With Intel launching Kaby Lake today every motherboard manufacturer has brought to town their latest offerings featuring the new Z270 chipset. This of course includes ECS who has brought their latest offering, the Z270-Lightsaber, a full atx motherboard with many of the modern features that any gamer is looking for.
Those features include of course the new Z270 chipset, M.2 and U.2 (nvme) with support for Intel Optane technology, and 6 Sata III connectors for your storage needs. Additionally you will find 3x PCIe lanes, a Killer e2500 nic, 8 channel Realtek audio, and a 14 phase digital power delivery system.
You will also find several led’s built into the board. The audio section is separated by an RGB trace path LED, while a set of status led’s indicate which of the phases are currently in use by the CPU. The rear I/O is fairly standard with USB 3.0 slots, your 8 channel audio connector, HDMI, Display Port, Digital Optical, Killer Gigabit connector, 2 USB 3.1 slots, and a couple USB 2.O slots.
The Z270-Lightsaber should be available well within Q1 2017 at the sub $200 price point.
