NVIDIA’s summer of launches will continue with the launch of the RTX 4050 in June. This will follow the launches of the RTX 4070 in April and the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 in May. This card could be the highest volume selling card from the RTX 40 series.
The card is rumored to be based off the 5nm “AD107” silicon. While the AD107 does have a 128-bit memory interface, but NVIDIA could cut this down to 96-bit for the RTX 4050 and only give it 6GB of GDDR6 memory. This is actually 25% less than the 8GB of 128-bit GDDR6 that is on the current RTX 3050.
Now NVIDIA could have worked out the numbers correctly where this card will still end up being faster than the RTX 3050 even though it has less memory.
