FlexiSpot Pro Plus Standing Desk (E7) Review

Final Thoughts

As I mentioned in the beginning of this review of the things we typically overlook when it comes to our setup is the desk. Over the years I’ve gone from a fold up table, to cheaper Ikea desks, and now to standing desks. Sit-stand desks are so great because once again we overlook the effects on our body of sitting down all day. There are plenty of studies that show how bad it is for our bodies to be sitting down all day, so having a sit-stand desk helps with that.

For me I typically stand for the first half of the day and then as I start to get fatigued towards the middle of the day I will sit down. Having a sit-stand desk definitely gives you that flexibility, and you can even add in other things like treadmills or balance boards. Being that this desk is motorized just makes the process from going to sitting to standing even easier and it is nice that you can program heights into the controller so you can just press a single button to go to your specified height.

When it comes to the Pro Plus Standing Desk (E7) specifically FlexiSpot is doing a lot right with this desk. First off when it comes to the frame they went with thicket leg columns and the entire frame is made of carbon steel. The E7 also can hold up to 355lbs, which is 1.5 times more than what their own E5 desk can handle. In the past we’ve reviewed desks that have averaged around 200-220lbs, so being able to handle 355lbs means t hat you can really load the desk up with multiple monitors, your PC tower, and much more.

The desk was extremely easy to configure on the FlexiSpot website too. There are 5 different types of tabletop material and some are offered in curved options like we received with the bamboo tabletop. Within the configuration you can even add things to you desk setup like wheels, an under desk drawer, a chair, monitor arms, and much more. I was a bit bummed that they did not have an option to get covers for the pre-drilled cable holes in the desk, but you can pick those up on Amazon.

The bamboo tabletop looks amazing and as I said it really has a nice contrast compared to the items that are sitting on my desk. The bamboo tabletop is also one of the few tabletops that is offered in larger curved sizes. We received the 72″ x 30″ curved option, but it is also available in a 78″ x 30″ option as well.

The overall operation of the desk is good and motors were not too fast or too slow, they seemed just about right. I also like it that when you press one of your programmed heights the desk will move up or down and slightly slow down towards the end of the movement so it does not jerk the components sitting on your desk. At the sitting height the desk does not have any wobble at all, while standing it does have a slight wobble, but that is expected with any longer standing desk.

The E7 starts at $599.99 with a chipboard tabletop, ours as configured in this review (Curved bamboo 72″ x 30, white frame) will be $849.99. For those who want piece of mind FlexiSpot also backs this desk up with a 15 year warranty!
