What does the Fractal Design Summit Case Look Like?

As we take a first look at the Fractal Design Summit you can see we received the Chalk White version of the case. So the case itself is mostly white, but we do have the FSC-certified oak wrapped around the front part of the case. This really gives the case a unique look and the oak is a lighter oak, blending nicely with the white color of the case. In terms of size I would say this an average mid-tower, the official dimensions are 495 × 229 × 515 (LxWxH).

Starting at the front of the case we have a perforated mesh front panel. Towards the bottom of this panel is a small Fractal logo.

Removing this front panel is quite easy, you simply press on it by the top and it will pop off. Behind it you’ll find three a Fractal’s Momentum 14 fans featuring swept LCP blades and true FDB bearings. These fans are attached to a removable cooling bracket. This bracket will support three 120 / 140mm fans as well as radiators up to 360mm. The pre-installed fans are also daisy-chained together so there is just a single cable you’ll need to connect to your motherboard.

Moving up to the top of the case you’ll find your buttons and connections. You’ll find a larger power button in the center, then 2 × USB 3.2 gen 1 Type-A ports, a single USB 3.2 gen 2×2 Type-C port, and a combination 3.5mm audio jack. The rest of the top of the case is ventilation with the same perforated mesh we saw on the front of the case. You can remove this top panel by pulling on the fabric tab towards the back of the case. With the top panel removed we find another cooling bracket. It supports three 120mm or two 140mm fans as well as radiators up to 360mm. And just like the front cooling bracket this one is removable from the case.

The main side panel of the case is a tempered glass panel, this will allow you to fully show off your system. From this side we can take a look at the case feet which also are made of real oak wood! The opposite side panel is just a plain steel panel.

As we come to the back of the case we have a pretty standard design with our motherboard mount, ventilation and support for a 120mm fan, and the power supply mount at the bottom. There is also a pull-out filter for your power supply. You will notice small tabs on each side panel, these will allow you to easily pop off each side panel.
