FSP CMT340 Case Review

Final Thoughts

With our build complete, we fired up the system, and to our delight, the four included addressable RGB fans looked great. Cycling through the various included modes lefts us quite impressed. Check out a few images below of the system all lit up.

When we first saw the CMT340 at CES 2019, we almost walked right past it, figuring it was just another show build in an average case with flashy addressable RGB fans. It wasn’t until we found out that the CMT340 was actually going to include four 120mm addressable RGB fans that we stopped to take a bit of a closer look. At a time when a set of nice fans by themselves cost as much as the whole CMT340, we knew this was going to be a great value proposition. Tack on two tempered glass side panels, and you have us even more interested.

The small stature of the FSP CMT340 requires a few cuts to be made, especially when it comes to things like cable management options. However, we think FSP did a decent job providing what they could, while allowing room for standard components in this small mid-tower case. And don’t forget, the CMT340 has room for a 360mm radiator up front, and is the smallest mid-tower case to offer this feature. The body of the case, while sturdy, did leave us a bit worried when we encountered some paint flaking during our build process, but this is something that could probably be adjusted in later batches of the case.

CMT340

Our time with the FSP CMT340 allowed us to see how much of a value this new case is, especially with an MSRP of $99.99 – currently available at Amazon. The CMT340 is a great option for someone getting into PC building that wants to have a great looking case from the start, without having to worry about figuring out what RGB fans and controller to buy, while at the same time keeping within a reasonable budget. We think the FSP CMT340 offers that option, and earns itself an 8 out of 10.
