Gamdias Hermes E4 3-in-1 Gaming Combo Review

Gamdias Hermes E4 Keyboard Overview

Out of all three of the products probably the one we were most excited about is the keyboard. I can assume this keyboard is almost identical to Gamdias’s Hermes E3, which has been out for a bit now. The keyboard is a 61-key keyboard in the 60% form factor, all white of course. Currently Gamdias is only selling the Hermes E4 in a white colorway.

If you are not familiar with the 60% form factor it is much smaller than your typical keyboard. Imagine taking a tenkeyless keyboard and cutting off the right section where the arrow keys are as well as the entire top function row. I always say that 60% keyboards are as low as you can go without sacrificing too much, even though some people may say you are sacrificing a lot with a 60% keyboard.

Talking about the colorway not only are the keycaps white, but the entire chassis of the keyboard is as well. Most of the legends on the keyboard are see-through so the lighting below can be seen. There are alternate function legends on some of the keys which are grey.

The keycaps themselves appear to be ABS plastic, but they do have a sort of rougher texture like you would find on PBT keycaps. They are also double-shot. Under the keycaps you will find your mechanical key switches. Gamdias says these are Gamdias mechanical switches, but upon closer investigation these are Huano switches. Our keyboard came with red switches, which are meant to clone Cherry MX red switches. Based on the specifications of the keyboard these switches are rated for 50 million clicks.

At the top edge of the keyboard you’ll find a USB-C connection. I really like that Gamdias did not go with an integrated cable as this allows users to possibly pick up an aftermarket coiled cable down the line. The cable that does come with the keyboard is a pretty basic rubber cable, but I do like that it is white to match the keyboard.

Looking at the keyboard from the side we can see that it is set at a slope. Unfortunately beyond this there is no other height adjustment on the keyboard. Flipping the keyboard over there are four rubber feet to keep the keyboard in place on your desk.
