Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Super Gaming OC 12G Graphics Card Overview
If we take a first look at the RTX 4070 Super Gaming OC 12G it has a pretty modest size with official dimensions of RTX 4070 Super Gaming OC 12G 300mm x 130mm x 57.6mm (LxWxH). With those dimensions it should fit in most standard ATX cases out there.
Covering most of the card is going to be the cooling solution, which is Gigabyte’s WINDFORCE cooling solution. This solution makes use of three cooling fans that have the Gigabyte logo on them and will actually light up with RGB lighting. The center fan actually spins in a different direction than the other two fans, this will increase airflow pressure. The fans of course will turn off when your system is in a low load state. The shroud that houses the fans is made of plastic.
Under the fans is a large stack of two heatsinks that are connected by a series of eight copper heatpipes. One heatsink sits over the GPU and VRM while the other extends to the end of the card. There is a copper plate that makes direct contact with the GPU.
On the main side of the card you’ll find a GeForce RTX logo that is white and a Gigabyte logo towards the end of the card which will light up with RGB lighting when you power your system on. Right in the center of the card is your 12VHPWR power connection. You can also see this is where the end of the PCB is.
The back of the card features a full-cover metal backplate which is a dark grey or gunmetal color. The end of it is open to allow for air to pass-though from the heatsink below. Also in the center of the card you will notice a little cut-out where there is a OC/Silent switch. The Silent mode will set a more relaxed fan curve in the cards BIOS. By default the card is in OC mode.
When it comes to connections on the card there are three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and one HDMI 2.1a. You can also see that while the card is slotted for 2 slots it actually takes up more than that so make sure you have at least 3 slots available. As a reminder the card is 57.6mm tall when sitting on the ground.
