Gigabyte is teasing their upcoming GeForce GTX 1080/1070 Xtreme Gaming graphics cards with a picture of a silhouette of the card. If you didn’t know NVIDIA is allowing custom-design GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards from day-one and is incentivizing choosing them. The MSRP for the GTX 1080 is $599, but you won’t get a reference card for that price, those are being sold as “Founders Edition” cards for $699.
NVIDIA has hinted that the cheapest custom-designed cards will launch $100 cheaper than the reference-design card. If we take a look at the silhouette the GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming could feature Gigabyte’s WindForce 3X cooling solution, the same cooling solution they are using on the GTX 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming. The GTX 1080 will go on sale May 27th, with the GTX 1070 to follow June 10th.
