Hollyland Lark M1 Wireless Microphone System Review

Hollyland Lark M1 Wireless Microphone System Overview

The Lark M1 comes in the exact same charging case as what we saw with the Lark C1. This case has LED indicators on the front to let you know how charged it is as well as the devices inside. The case has a 1400 mAh battery inside, which will charge the included microphones 3 times over if they are dead. On the bottom of the charging case is a Type-C connector to use with the included cable.

The top part of the charging case opens up to reveal your two microphones and the receiver. One thing that is nice about the Lark M1 is that as soon as you open the case up and pull the microphones and receiver out they instantly pair. I’ve had so many times that I forgot to turn on my other wireless microphone system so this is a nice feature.

Taking a first look at the receiver, it is slightly larger than the microphones, but still is quite small. The official dimensions are 48.3 x 27.6 x 11mm. On the main side you’ll find two indication LEDs which will let you know if the microphones are connected. It has a clip on it, which will allow you to clip it in a hot-shoe, or even to a device / cable. On one side you’ll find an “out” port for the included 3.5 mm cable that you’ll connect to your camera or other device and a power button. On the opposite side you’ll find a USB-C port for charging, pair / volume up button, and a mode switch / volume down button. It is nice to see the USB-C port which allows you to charge the receiver without the charging case.

Each one of the microphones is even smaller than the receiver with official dimensions of 48 x 21.5 x 10 mm. Towards the top you’ll actually find the microphone, which has a omnidirectional polar pattern and frequency range of 20Hz–20KHz. On the front is an indication LED that lets you know it is connected to the receiver. The microphones have a clip design as well, which makes them easy to attach to a shirt collar. On the side there is a power button and pair / noise cancelling mode button. Finally on the bottom there is a USB-C port, which means just like the receiver you can charge the microphones without the charging case.
