What is RAM?
RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It refers to temporary memory that is used by computers. When you look at HDD or SSD, you will soon see that it is always being overwritten and refreshed. The main reason for this is because it allows a CPU to access relevant data without storing it on a permanent basis. RAM is super important when you look at your PC. It’s been established that RAM can easily store the right data and that your PC or GPU needs to be able to access it quickly. RAM is crucial if you want to multitask or if you want to run a lot of programs at once. Usually, if you are just accessing a live casino, you won’t have to worry too much about RAM.
Choosing the Right DDR
Modern RAM is DDR SDRAM. When you look at home computing, you will soon see that it has gone through four different versions in the last decade or so. You have DDR, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4. Most modern machines in this day and age use a fourth-generation DDR4 but there are many DDR3 motherboards available right now. Either way, DDR3 is on the verge of becoming obsolete. One valuable thing that you need to take note of is that DDR4 is not backwards compatible. This means that you cannot use it with other motherboards. DDR3 is not forward compatible either, so you can’t use it with newer ones.

Finding out what your motherboard is able to support is super easy. You just need to search for System Information and then under the System Summary you can see which motherboard you have. When you have done this, look up the model on the manufacturer’s website and check out all of the relevant information you might need.
RAM Slots
Next, you have RAM slots. It’s very easy for you to take a look at the motherboard itself if you are not quite sure what RAM you need. Mini ITX motherboards only tend to support two RAM slots and on top of this, there are EATX models that have 8 slots. Of course, this amount of RAM only tends to be required for gaming PCs so you need to keep this in mind if you can.
CPUs
Motherboards tend to have a RAM ceiling and CPUs do too. This limit won’t be an issue if you have a modern CPU that is able to support up to 64GB of RAM.
