Final Thoughts on the HYTE X50 Case

At the beginning of this review I said how each time HYTE comes out with a product we are impressed and the X50 is no different. It actually might just be my favorite case I’ve reviewed lately. HYTE always seems to make their products different so they stand out, but are also functional at the same time. With the X50 you have these rounded edges where there essentially isn’t a right angle on the outside of the case. This is further accentuated by the curved glass side panel, which looks awesome. To me this case looks sort of retro, but at the same time futuristic.

Inside HYTE has done something I haven’t seen in a long time, put the power supply in the top of the case. This makes for a different internal layout, but it does work here quite well. Especially considering they’ve curved the power supply compartment and you can see it through the glass panel. If anything the having the power supply at the top does limit how you can route your graphics card power cables.

When it comes to cooling the case has room inside for 10 fans as well as 360mm radiators. It is of course worth noting that the case does not come with any fans. It would be nice to see a version that would ship with say 4 fans (3 front, 1 rear) so you would essentially be good to go out of the box. HYTE did of course provide us with fans and they were quite easy to install in the cooling brackets.

All of the cable routing holes with their unique grommet design and velcro tie-downs make organizing your cables so easy. It just seems almost everything was done right with this case. Which seems very much par the course for HYTE. It would have been nice to see back-connect motherboard support, but that would lead to some complications with the storage bracket.

Right now you can pick this case up at our favorite online retailer for $159.99. They also offer an “Air” version which ditches the glass side panel for a ventilated one for $129.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the HYTE X50 PC Case a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
