HYTE Y60 Case Review

HYTE Y60 Case Overview

The HYTE Y60 is one very eye-catching case, which sort of reminds me of Lian Li’s O11 series. The Y60 is uniquely different though thanks to its 3-panel design. So instead of a normal tempered glass front panel and side panel there is a 3rd smaller panel at a 45-degree angle connecting the front and side panels.

We did receive the red version of the case which has a glossy red paneling. You can also get the case in white or black. For those wondering the case has official dimensions of 456mm (L) x 285mm (W) x 462mm (H). Right at the front of the case in the 45-degree section you’ll find your power button, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and a combination headphone / microphone jack.

So the front panel of the case is just a plain tempered glass panel, which allows you to see through the entire case. There are no fan mounts on the front of the case as you’ll get your intake front the back side panel as we’ll show you in just a bit. The main side panel is your typical tempered glass side panel allowing you to show off your hardware. With all three glass panels on the case it is going to be hard to hide cables, but HYTE has come up with some creative ways to do this.

The opposite panel is red and is more or less all ventilated with slits cut into it not only to bring air into the case, but to also help cool your hard drives and power supply. The top of the case is also similarly ventilated, but this panel is made of plastic. If you pull up on it, it will release to reveal a removable cooling bracket. This bracket supports three 120 mm fans or radiators up to 360 mm. The top removable panel features a built-in filter.

Moving around to the back of the case we have a interesting design. On the right side you have your motherboard mount and a 120 mm exhaust fan. The motherboard mount has seven low-profile expansion slots, and three vertical slots. The included riser is making use of the top slot and it seems HYTE really wants you to use your graphics card in a vertical orientation as the low profile slots really limit what you can install in them. The 3-slot vertical section does have room for cards that are thicker than 3-slot, which is great since many of the new RTX 4090’s are quite beefy.

On the opposite side there are two removable storage trays, which are made of metal. These easily can be removed as they are held into place by two captive thumbscrews. Each one of these trays support either two 2.5-inch drives or a single 3.5-inch drive. Below the storage trays is your power supply mount, which does support full-size ATX power supplies.

On the bottom of the case there are two sections that will lift it off the ground. There is a filter on the bottom of the case that reveals two included 120 mm fans, which are setup to be intake fans. So in total the case comes with 3 included 120 mm fans. The bottom of the case will also support two 140 mm fans, but there is no radiator support.
