HYTE Y60 Case Review

Installation

Before you start your installation you might want to see what direction the wires are coming out from the rear fan. In our case they were coming out facing down towards our motherboard. With our integrated I/O cover and shield on our motherboard the wire kept and getting caught. It is simple enough to rotate the fan so you don’t have this issue, but a slight oversight on HYTE’s part.

When it comes to installation you don’t need to remove the front panel or 45-degree panel, especially if you are not installing anything in the side-mount. Our motherboard went in no problem. When you install your motherboard be sure to install the included PCI-Express riser.

For our hard drive installation we of course are using the removable trays. These easily come out of the case for us to install our drive.

Your power supply simply slides in from the back side of the case. Be sure you have the side with your fan facing out towards you.

Before you go ahead and install your graphics card you are going to want to connect all of your connections on the bottom of your motherboard. These of course we will blocked by your graphics card once it is installed. There is a opening below the motherboard to route your cables, but I wish it would have been a bit larger. Finally install your graphics card, which of course goes in at a vertical orientation.

With everything install and connected the backside of the case can seem a bit messy, but of course no one is going to see this side of the case. I opted to not use any of the included zip ties, but as I mentioned there are plenty of tie-down points if you wanted to clean things up a bit. On the opposite side we have one extremely clean build!

Closing our system up I would say that if you really want to light things up inside you will need to either buy some RGB fans or RGB strips. The power button does light up when you turn your system on.
